The three high schools of Parker train side by side
Parker Parks and Recreation joins Legend, Ponderosa and Chaparral high schools to announce the second annual girls’ Tri-High Softball Camp.
Located at the Parker Fieldhouse, 18700 E. Plaza Dr., on Dec. 28 and 29 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Tri-High Camp introduces beginning softball players to the game and builds on existing skills of young players. Campers have the unique opportunity to learn from and play with coaches and players from all three Parker high school teams – great exposure if you are looking to play high school softball!
Coach Toby Tabola of Ponderosa High School stated,
“Even if you already have a coach and have a learned set of skills, the Tri-High Camp will provide a fun environment to enhance and expand those skills giving you greater insight to the great game of fastpitch.”
Drills and instruction will be tailored to participant’s ages 5 to 12 with skill levels from beginning to intermediate. This camp will include instruction on a variety of skills including hitting, bunting, fielding (infield and outfield), pitching and catching. According to one parent,
“This was a great experience to keep kids active as well as (demonstrate) the fundamentals for development. Thank you for organizing this. It was wonderful!”
It is recommended that participants attend the full camp as it is designed as a two-day, progressive clinic but if needed, girls can sign up for one day only. Camp cost is $30 for one day and $50 for the full two-day camp. The registration fee includes one camp t-shirt per player. Register now at www.ParkerRec.com using the Sports or Registration links.
Groups who bring in teams of 10 or more players can receive a discounted rate of $40 per child for the two-day camp. Participants can contact Errin at 303.805.6308 or email ereese@parkeronline.org to register a team or for more information about the camp.
