It’s summer and swimsuit season again, that most loved and dreaded time of the year!
The Parker Recreation Center has a few new fun ideas to add some spunk back into your fitness routine if you are bored with
yours, or to help you get into some new healthy habits if you are out of shape.
- PartnerFIT in the Park on Wednesdays from 6 to 7 p.m $60 Residents/$65 non-residents
- Kickboxing 101 on Fridays from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. $48 R/ $52 NR
- Parker Fitness Academy on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. $60R/$65 NR
For participants 16 and older, PartnerFIT in the Park is based on the fact that people with exercise partners stay with a program and reach fitness goals more often than those who go it alone. Led by a certified personal trainer, this six-week class begins on June 15 and is designed to help increase strength, build endurance and lose weight. The program is hosted at O’Brien Park, 10795 Victorian Dr., and will give you results while you enjoy the warm summer weather!
Kickboxing 101 is perfect for participants 16 and older who have an interest in trying a kickboxing class but may have felt intimidated or overwhelmed. Go beyond the basics of punching and kicking to more advanced moves by the end of the eight-week session. This great workout and stress-reliever begins July 8 at the Recreation Center, 17301 E. Lincoln Ave.
Kids need variety in their workout too! Ages 8 to 12 will find fitness and wellness through games that encourage laughter, movement and fun with the Parker Fitness Academy. Led by a certified personal trainer, this class puts an emphasis on building confidence and making exercise enjoyable so that children will want to make it a part of their everyday lives. The program begins June 14 at the Recreation Center.
