LUMA kicks off the PACE Center Grand Opening Saturday Parker Arts Center

Luma light show at the PACE Center Parker COThe PACE Center (Parker Arts Cultural Event Center) opens this weekend in Parker CO.

LUMA will be the first act on the Mainstage with a VIP only show Friday night and a matinee and evening performance on Saturday.

LUMA Shows October 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

What is Luma? It’s a light, dance and music extravaganza.

LUMA uses the dark as a canvas and light as the brush to paint a story of how light occurs to humanity. Standing on a lava flow on the ‘edge of the earth’, Marlin, the shows founder, had an epiphany that all life is drawn to light. Like deer in the headlight, a moth to a flame, a seed to the sun, we humans are also inextricably pulled to the light. Source: Luma Theater

The PACE Center shines like a jewel just East of historic downtown Parker on Mainstreet and you’ll want to be a piece of history at this Grand Opening.

Buy your tickets quickly as the evening performance is almost full and the afternoon show is filling up as I type.

Take a look at this video, it will give you an idea of what’s in store for you on Saturday.

Gazebo at O'Brien Park

October 31, 2011 4:00 -8:00 p.m. in O’Brien Park & Mainstreet

This Halloween tradition that is run by the Cherry Creek Valley Rotary Club is something the entire community looks forward to each year.

Kids of all ages are encouraged to dress up  as your favorite  characters whether it be astronauts and princesses,  pumpkins or football players all are welcome to join in the festive fun.

You’ll start your adventure at  O’Brien Park in Old Town Parker to celebrate Halloween in a fun and safe environment.

The gazebo is home to frightful fun and ghoulish games before setting off on your quest for sweets. Many of the shop owners all along East Mainstreet and in the Baskin Robbins shopping center will have candy and treats for the little goblins in your family.

Be sure and bring your camera to snap keepsake fall shots of all the fun your family is having and a Trick or Treat bag to hold all your tasty treasures.

The Parker Police Department will be on hand helping with traffic and keeping everyone safe.

For more information or to volunteer please visit the Rotary website here ccvrotary.org

This is the same Rotary club that brought you Smokin Brew BBQ which you hopefully took part in last weekend. If you are looking for a place to plug into the community and volunteer this might be the perfect spot.
