The Town’s preschool is changing the way it conducts its registrations and is adding a new option to its offerings.
Registration for Adventure Club preschool programs has been done by lottery in recent years, due to the programs’ popularity. That will change this year, and registration will be done on a first-come, first-served basis beginning Jan. 9.
Registration forms will be available both at the Recreation Center and online at CRgov.com/adventureclub. Those with children currently in the program must participate in the registration process.
Also new this year for Adventure Club is the option of a five-day pre-kindergarten program. Previously, pre-kindergarten only was offered three days a week.
Now, pre-K classes – for children ages 4 and 5 – will be offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 to 11:45 a.m. or 12:30 to 3:15 p.m. or Monday through Friday from 12:30 to 3:15 p.m.
Preschool classes – for children ages 3 and 4 – will be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 11:45 a.m. or 12:30 to 3:15 p.m.
Classes are held at the Castle Rock Recreation Center and will run from September 2012 through May 2013.
Both programs are state-licensed, continuous school year programs. All participants must have an up-to-date immunization record and a health physical and emergency card on file.
Preschool participants must turn 3 by Oct. 1 and pre-K students must turn 4 by that same date.
Monthly preschool tuition is $130 for residents and $165 for nonresidents. Monthly pre-K tuition is $170 for residents and $205 for nonresidents for the three-day-a-week class and $285 ($325 nonresident) for the five-day. A nonrefundable $90 deposit is due upon registration.
Prospective participants who do not get a spot during registration will be placed on a waiting list. Castle Rock residents will be given priority over non-residents.
