Pumpkin Festival Weekends !
Come, Celebrate this Squash with Your Whole Family at Tagawa Gardens
Sat.,and Sun., Oct. 17 & 18 and 24 & 25
11 am – 3 pm
Pumpkin Festival Weekends! All activities are the same each weekend!
11 AM – 1PM, Cooking and Tasting Demonstrations
Herb Gourmet, Deb Whittaker C.H.E.F. (Cheap, Healthy, Easy, Fresh and Delicious). Deb shows us her talents with pumpkins and winter squash. Come pick up some recipes and ask your questions on how to serve these yummy veggies.
11 AM Baked Apple Stuffed Winter Squash
11:45 Ginger Cider Soup in mini-pumpkins
12:30 Pumpkin Seed Pesto
1-3 PM, Children’s Songs with Musician Gregg Green
11 AM-3 PM features the following events each weekend:
The Jackman Brothers Roving balloon entertainment and interactive game shows

Inflatable Obstacle Course
Silly cemetery and Crazy Maze
Pumpkin Decorating (decorate a small pumpkin to take home, one pumpkin per admission)

Plant a Pumpkin with Grandma Mimi (one per admission)

This event in Monument was the closest Pumpkin patch I can find and it’s only 25 minutes South of us on I-25.
2009: We’ll be open from Sept. 25th to Oct. 31st, Fridays and Saturdays 9-5 PM
Open in October on Wednesdays and Thursdays 9-12 AM
* * * Open on Columbus Day October 12th 9-5 * * *
Adults & Children: Fridays-$5 per person, Saturdays-$7 per person
Children under 2 years of age: FREE
School/Group rates available for 15 or more.

Parker Recreation is offering a class, taught by a Master Gardener, covering gardening basics for our unique climate: soil, weather, mulch, fertilizer, Xeriscaping, lawn care, pests, selection and care of trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals and more!
Plant lists will be handed out to help you create a beautiful and successful garden for your home. This is a great refresher class for seasoned gardeners too.

10-11 AM How to Build A Wormery
Kris our Annuals Dept. Co-Manager is an enthusiastic organic gardener and Herbalist-come learn how easy it is to recycle kitchen scraps into wonderful, rich compost in a small space with the help of our worm friends—perfect for any size garden, patio or balcony!
11AM-12 PM Demonstrations: Creating Earth-Friendly Container Gardens
Rob Proctor, 9News Garden Expert. Unleash your creativity and become a “No Garden Gardener” with one of the best! These won’t be your neighbors’ typical garden pots. Rob will use organic soils & plant care, and recyclable or biodegradable pots.
12-1:30 PM Welcome Back, Hummingbirds!
Leslie, Tagawa’s Bird Enthusiast and National Wildlife Habitat Steward. Renew your passion for bird feeding and attracting wildlife. Annual plants that attract hummingbirds will be featured.

Craig Miller Water Conservation Specialist, Parker Water and Sanitation District. So how do you properly prune that tree or shrub in your yard? Why and when should you prune? What should you look for when contracting with a tree care professional? These and other questions will be answered during the course of this enlightening class.

2:30-3:30 PM Sustainable Gardening: 15 Tips to Get You Started
Carole Kastler of Camelot Design. Carole shows how to make your landscape more sustainable—it’s easy! First, and most importantly, Place the right plant in the right place. Then “Mother” your plants, continue to work the soil (amendments), and just relax when it comes to any bugs you may come across.

My favorite time of year “SPRING” is here and my favorite spot in the area to satisfy my passion for gardening is offering some classes this weekend.
