New Year’s Eve Extravaganza being held at Plum Creek Country Club.

All proceeds go to ProjectSanctuary (www.projectsanctuary.us).

Tickets are $42 per ticket and there will be Casino Games, Hors d’ouvres, cash bar, live entertainment provided by TC & Sass, noisemakers, and a champagne toast at midnight.

Project Linus is a non-profit national organization that provides handmade blankets to children who are seriously ill or traumatized. Our own Parker resident Karen Loucks Rinedollar founded Project Linus 15 years ago right here in Parker, Colorado.

Bostons fundraiser for Juvenile Diabetes

Purchase a heart shaped pizza at Bostons and they will donate $1 to the local Juvenile Diabetes JDRF chapter.

Heart-shaped Mini Dipper appetizers and Chocolate Amoré desserts will be sold through February 14 and heart-shaped pizzas will be available Valentine’s Day weekend, February 11 to 14.

Boston’s will donate $1 from each food item sold and will sell customizable paper heart valentines for $1each to benefit local JDRF chapters in the communities where Boston’s restaurants are located.

How much money has Boston’s raised?

The 2010 fundraiser raised $100,000 for JDRF. Boston’s will aim high again by setting a goal to raise at least $100,000 the organization in 2011.Why does Boston’s partner with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation?Building on the tradition first started by its parent company, Boston Pizza in Canada, Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar began selling its specialty heart-shaped pizzas and paper hearts in 1999 as a way to help raise much needed funds for local charities. Over the past four years, the Boston’s Pizza Foundation has donated more than $450,000 to local charities. Boston’s parent company in Canada has supported the JDRF since 2001 and donated more than $1 million. In 2009, the U.S. franchises decided to join the efforts and raise awareness and education of healthy lifestyles and type 1 diabetes
