Get in the Holiday Spirit at Parker’s Christmas Carriage Parade

Join your friends and neighbors for more holiday cheer at the annual Christmas Carriage Parade on Saturday, Dec. 12.  This joyful tradition is presented by the Town of Parker and the Colorado Driving Society on the second Saturday of December each year. The day begins at 10 a.m. at the Winter Farmer’s Market in the Mainstreet Center parking lot, 19650 E. Mainstreet.

Santa will arrive at noon and will be available for pictures in at Victorian Peaks , located at 11020 S. Pikes Peak Drive behind the Mainstreet Center .

Many thanks to The Children’s Hospital for helping Santa find his way to Parker for the Parade.  Victorian Peaks has made it possible this year for the Town to offer pony rides and a petting zoo for your family’s enjoyment and will be located behind the Victorian Peaks building, just past the Winter Farmer’s Market.  The Winter Farmer’s Market will run from 10 a.m. to  4 p.m.  and the petting zoo and pony rides will be offered from noon to 4 p.m.

This “Christmas in Toyland” themed parade will include dozens of horse-drawn carriages, wagons and stagecoaches from across Colorado all dressed for the occasion!  Those who miss getting their picture with Santa before the parade will be pleased to know that Santa will stay for a while before heading home with Mrs. Claus.  Be sure to also head down Mainstreet to enjoy holiday ice carvings at Parker Station!

The parade will commence at 2 p.m. heading west on Mainstreet, looping up and around Victorian Drive and back onto Mainstreet, much like the Chamber parade in the summer. Road closures include E. Mainstreet, Pine Drive and Victorian Circle .  Please visit www.parkeronline.org for a route map and for more information.

Parking is available at Parker Station, the Mainstreet Center , O’Brien Park and around downtown Parker.  Accessible (handicap) parking will be available at the Parker Water and Sanitation building on the corner of E. Mainstreet and Victorian Dr .  Please note that E. Mainstreet and Victorian Drive will be closed from 1 to 4 p.m. for the parade.  Please park beyond this area if you plan to exit during this time period.

The Town would like to thank all of the generous sponsors who help to make this event possible:  The Children’s Hospital, Victorian Peaks, Wells Fargo, Comcast, Parker United Methodist Church, Spradlin Printing, Access Family Medicine, AES Group LLC, Life Style Kitchen and Bath, IREA, Sam’s Club, Noodles & Co., DVD Reflections, the Parker Chronicle and Parker Station Professional Offices.  Many thanks to our Town Sponsors: Kaelin Pediatric Dentistry and Bellco Credit Union.

The Town would also like to thank the following volunteers: the Boy Scouts, the Young Marines, the Colorado Driving society, and the individual Parker residents who all take time out of their busy holiday season to help bring Parker this honored tradition.
