This camp will consist of fundamentals that will enhance your son/daughter’s dribbling, passing, and shooting. Camp will also develop your player’s ability to play in a team structure. Youth and Kinder Basketball starting October 2011

Youth and Kinder Basketball

youth and kinder basketball parker co parker recreation The fall Youth and Kinder basketball seasons get underway in Oct. with registration opening Sept. 6 at 6 a.m. online at www.parkerrec.com.

Kinder Basketball will be held on Saturday mornings at either the Mainstreet Center or Mountain View Elementary School and will be a one-hour program that teaches the basic skills of basketball for ages 4-6 yrs. A 6-year-old in kindergarten may play in the kinder program or with grades 1-2.

All others must play in their age or grade level. This will be an 8-week program running from Oct. 22 to Dec. 17, bypassing the Thanksgiving weekend. The fee for this program is $60 for residents and $65 for non-residents.

The Youth basketball league will entail one practice and one game each week with practices at various school gyms, the Fieldhouse or the Recreation Center.

Boys and girls leagues will be available for grades 1-2, 3-4 & 5-6. Session dates for grades 1-4 will run from the week of Oct. 17 to Dec. 17 and for grades 5-6 the week of Oct. 24 to Dec. 17, during this 8-game season. The fee will be $75 for residents and $80 for non-residents.

To serve as a volunteer coach in either the Kinder or Youth leagues, or for additional information, please contact Ryan Daberkow at 303.805.6314 or email rdaberkow@parkeronline.org. Those early volunteers will get their choice of the day, time and location for practices. All games for grades 1-4 will be held at the Fieldhouse. Games for grades 5-6 will be held at the Fieldhouse or Sagewood Middle School. Team uniforms are included in the fee.

The Parker Recreation center is looking for volunteer coaches for the myriad of fall sports leagues that they will be offering this fall for youth grades one through eight.

Positions are available for:

Youth teams have one hour practice’s each week and one game per week. If you are interested in coaching a team

A favorite with the area youth of Parker the “Nothing but Net” summer kickoff basketball camp is at hand and kicks off the first of three events all taking place at the Parker Fieldhouse in 2010.

The Start Smart Basketball Camp

The Staff of Metro State College will be on hand to help kids aged 5-12 with their basics such as: Shooting, passing, dribbling, offense and defense. Two sessions will be held: 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 11-4 p.m. and will be divided by age and skill set.

Back again, this Signature Parker Fieldhouse basketball training event will be held for players aged 6 to 17 with two sessions broken up by age group. Players ages 6 to 10 will meet from 9-noon; agest 11-17 meet from 1-4 p.m.. Each participant will receive a basketball a camp T-shirt and one personally signed item from Chauncey Billups who will be on hand every day inter acting with campers and staff. There is a 9-1 camper to staff ratio throughout the camp.

Keison Crosby told us that “the Chauncey Billups Basketball Academy was the highlight of my summer; it was cool how Chauncey was at camp all day and he even played one-on-one with me!”

Oct. 13 Guard/Post Position Basketball Camp

Register now for the Oct. 13 Guard/Post Position Basketball Camp at the
 Parker Fieldhouse.  Learn techniques for improving your play inside
 and/or outside with an emphasis on post moves and post defense plus guard
 skill development on both offense and defense.  Besides training
 fundamentals, players will learn proper decision making tools to help them
 think the game and play with more efficiency.

The Guard/Post Position Basketball Camp is operated by Teach Sports.  A
 student-athlete based sports academy that offers basketball
 instruction, events and consulting to athletes, parents and coaches.  Teach
 Sports was founded by Chuck Rieb, a 20 year trained coaching professional
 who coached for 15 years at the college level.  Assisting Chuck for the
 Guard/Post Position Basketball Camp is Ken Shaw, current boys’
 basketball coach at Regis High School.  Ken posts 510 wins in his 32 years of
 coaching.

This one day camp for youth in grades six to 12 will take place from 9
