Smokin Brew BBQ Parker Colorado National Barbeque Competitionn
By Ask Chrissy
Smokin Brew BBQ is a National Barbecue competition being held in Parker Colorado for the first time in the parking lot of the Parker Station building this Labor Day Weekend and it was very well attended on the opening day Saturday. Above you can see a rack of yummy ribs being grilled at the Skin and Bones BBQ Stand. They had the most ribbons and trophies of anyone that was in the sampling section of the competition.

I’m cheering for this team since one of the guys is a Parker Local.

There is something for everyone, and the prices are VERY reasonable. Above are a HUGE plate of Ribbon Fries!
These three little cuties below were there helping out at their booth by serving when they were busy and entertaining the crowd with singing and cheers when they weren’t.

You can get samples of Beef Brisket, Pulled Beef, Pulled Pork, Pork Ribs, Baby Back Ribs, Chicken, Sausage… all for $1 for meat and $2 for a rib. The variety is wonderful, the BBQ Masters are using both dry rub and wet sauce on the ribs. Each competitor chooses whether to sell or just be part of the competition. The BBQ Dudes and Dudettes started smoking and grilling their meat yesterday staying up all night to make sure the flavor was just right for todays tasting, sampling and judging.

For you non BBQ meat’aholics there was also grilled corn, pineapple, catfish, Jalapeno Poppers stuffed with a cream cheese crab mixture wrapped with smoked bacon and grilled WOW!

and for a finale you could have either fruit on a stick swirled with dark and white chocolate or a new taste sensation of a deep friend snickers bar!

Budweiser and Vines Wine Bar were sponsors and on hand at the bbq event to cool you down with beer and wine for $5. They also had lots of southern style SWEET Tea and fresh squeezed lemonade available for $2.
