Women’s Total Body Fitness
If you’ve resolved in 2017 to get more active and have more fun, Zumba is the place to get it done! Zumba is an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party that’s still moving millions worldwide. The class is offered on Tuesdays from 6:10 to 7:05 p.m., Wednesdays from 5:45 to 6:40 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:35 to 9:35 a.m. at the Recreation Center, 17301 E. Lincoln Ave. The fee for a typical six-week session is $35 for Parker-residents and $40 for non-residents. Drop-in is also available for most classes on a space-available basis.
Pilates Reformer/Tower Class Options
We’ve added NEW dates, times and formats to our Pilates Reformer/Tower class options! All Pilates Reformer/Tower sessions are led by certified Pilates Reformer trainers who guide participants safely and with proper form through movement principles, which include breath and core activation, pelvic stability, shoulder stabilization, strengthening the muscles around the hips and spinal mobilizations. Private and semi-private training, and a variety of small scheduled classes, are all available.
Integrating the Pilates Reformer/Tower movement principles into a series of exercises, your trainer will help you perform them with precision and control. Pilates Reformer/Tower sessions run February through May with a wide variety of times available. Participants must have three private or semi-private Pilates Reformer lessons or coordinator approval to join Pilates Reformer/Tower classes. The NEW Pilates Reformer Jump Board/Athletic Conditioning class is designed for athletic participants looking to challenge their core and get fit. This interval class will involve cardio along with conditioning and sculpting while utilizing the Pilates Reformer. Classes take place on Mondays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The NEW Pilates Reformer Gentle Restorative classes will deepen your Pilates practice with focus and attention to therapeutic and corrective movements. Two one-hour sessions are offered at 1:15 p.m. on Mondays and 12:30 p.m. on Fridays.
Pilates Reformer Evolution and Strength is a NEW evolution of the Pilates Reformer that includes intensity, cardio, endurance, strengthening, lengthening and toning. This full-body workout burns calories from high-intensity and low-impact movements. You will sweat and your muscles will burn. Come join the evolution on Wednesdays from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m.
