Fantastic info! I have been several times and the pizza is TO DIE FOR! So glad to hear about the liquor license.... I really want this place to stay in business and that's part of the equation for sure!

Hi Chrissy, Just a quick note.....Gabriel is a part owner of Portofino's, not just the Chef. He was recruited to Colorado a few years back and worked elsewhere for a bit, but is the Main Man in Parker. Portofino is his baby, and he loves what he does. He has one partner, who is there one day a week. Otherwise Gabriel is there, day and night, cooking with love. If you haven't tried it, you must. EVERYTHING on the menu is fantastic. The salads are the freshest I have ever had. Given the right time, Gabriel will come out to say 'Hello' to everyone...unless he is in the kitchen, busy putting his love into the food. On a side note, I have heard the Liquor license is in the works, possibly as soon as September, after cutting thru all the red tape. True NY pizza and pasta. Side note, Friday and Saturday nights, very busy...but anything before 6pm and you should have no problem finding a table, and great service. Try them for lunch. The food is just as great. If not dining in, they also do take out, and take & bake.

The Warhorse was the ONLY restaurant in town for years and years and used to be packed all the time... I guess the competition has taken it's toll. They also tried to go fancy white table cloth for awhile but that didn't go over well with the locals...... Thanks for stopping by and sharing your experience!

Live a little North of Parker, but love the area. We have been to the War horse twice and both times the service and food were great. The prices are decent too. I had the salmon and it was to die for. the only thing I did notice was the place was empty. we went there at 6:30pm, once on a Saturday and the other time it was Sunday. Will go back!!

The chef there at Portofinos worked in a pizza place in New York and the owners of Portofino knew him from there and recruited him to move Colorado. It's a fantastic story that he will share if you are in and he's got the time. I hope they get their liquor license soon... you just gotta have beer or wine with your pie! Thanks for stopping by.

I second the comments about Portofinos. I'm the typical Jersey food snob and I've had trouble finding good pie in Parker. Only had Portofino's once, but we liked it. Will definitely go there again. I also like the pie at Granellis. The Sauce House was great, and then they moved to Cottonwood (too far for me) and changed their name, I think. I don't think there's any other pizza in town that's worth a damn.
