Please remember to be civil and use PG rated language in your review. If it's too inflammatory in nature I reserve the right to not publish your review. So lets hear it Parker neighbors? What's your favorite coffee shop, Mexican restaurant? Italian restaurant? Best Happy Hour... share your thoughts and discoveries.. Also feel free to include our Douglas County area restaurants here.

Have been to Falcon Brewery in Parker Station twice now. Good beer, good food. The first time our service was great (Brandon waited on us). It wasn’t too busy. Last time I was there the bar service was unexceptional. Owner (not the brewmaster) was “Johnny on the spot” to take our order when we first sat down and then just faded away. He took the order and my friend got the wrong side. We had to get someone else to fix it and waited, waited, waited. She was done with her meal before it came out. Then it was too peppery for her. The place was busy and maybe they haven’t figured out how to get things done when busy.

Will definitely go back again. They deserve another chance with regards to the service. Maybe they’re still working out some of the kinks.

Kunjani coffee is a winner! Great atmosphere and great beans!

What’s up with the Service at Joe’s Crab Shack?

Went to Joe’s Crab Shack in Parker, Co. yesterday. They made Me, my wife, and my four hungry little ones wait an hour to get seated, after they said “ten minutes”. We sat at the table for 30 MORE minutes and never even saw a waitress. We finally had to leave and go over to Red Robin so that we get something to eat. Awful service from Joe’s Crab Shack. I will not be giving them my business in the future, and if you want prompt and friendly service, you should probably patronize a different establishment.

Lucky Red Robin is almost next door. Way to go Red Robin!

Champa St Burgers – Lincoln & Jordan (in the King Sooper shopette). Won’t be back. Hubby had a buffalo burger served on a decent bun. My mushroom/swiss burger however was served on a paper thin bun that literally fell apart, soaked with grease. Burgers undercooked – they have a “help yourself” bar with tomatoes, pickles, etc. – this should be COVERED for sanitary reasons. What if someone sneezed? Ick, it was nasty – They don’t give you napkins; they have a roll of paper like what you’d see in a wal-mart bathroom? What’s up with that. The guy who brought our burger to our table had zero personality, didn’t say a word, just plopped these raw burgers down. Overall, we were pretty grossed out and won’t be back.

6

SAUCE HOUSE – Stroh Rd & Parker Rd. I really hope this place can make it because it feels like it’s a family run business and I’d rather support our local small businesses rather than a big chain. We went last Friday night and the place was sadly pretty empty.

The pizza and meatball sandwich was pretty good and they served free chocolate fondue with fruit that was a nice treat.

I hope you pay them a visit to give this small business a chance. Keep them in mind as they also DELIVER.

7

DUSTY BOOT – Parker Rd & Arapahoe Rd – We won’t be back. Luckily we used a “buy one get one free” coupon we had for a Sunday breakfast. We ordered steak and eggs – didn’t ask us how we wanted out steak cooked – forgot the fried potatoes that were supposed to have come with it – forgot to credit the coupon.

Inexcusable service since they weren’t busy at all (just one other couple in the whole restaurant the entire time).

I so want a mid-priced place with an outdoor patio that has character. Look at Castle Rock. They have at least four really cool mom and pop places to sit out in a private landscaped courtyard and enjoy the weather.

I am not that hard to please but Parker just lacks mid level price non-chain spots. Tequila Joes was just OK. Old Santa Fe – After several attempts I finally had a meal I liked there last night. Bamba has grown on me but it’s just OK. We are there quite a bit – love their chips and salsa. Warhorse – have not been since they went upscale. It was pretty good before they changed. Trappers -Good but if I’m going to spend that kind of money I’m going to Brook’s. Falcon – Love the folks there but the beer and the food are just OK. Las Delicias – 1 and only time was years ago we did not like it and flys everywhere. Consistent good reviews have us ready to try again. Los Volcanes – Went a few times but replaced by Hacienda CO (Now THAT is great food). August Moon – I like it but Chinese usually means delivery. Cafe Monet – One of the better places that, because of kids, we just never seem to make it to. We need to get over there. Armondo’s – pretty good but I always get the sense that kids are not really welcome there. Indochine – I am luke warm about Thai to begin with but I don’t like it as much as other places I’ve been. Went there quite a bit when it was in the tiny place next to B&Rs. Mark Pi’s – OK for a changeup once in awhile. Who have I missed? Where is Parker’s great brew pub (sorry Falcon)and pizza place? Our great drinks and dessert in the courtyard or by the fireplace spot? Give me a reason to hang out on Main street!

Our new non-Parker hotspot is Parry’s Pizza. Not for beer but I love the pizza.

Ok I did forget a couple:

Big Jim’s BBQ – Operates out of a truck off Parker Rd. Some of the best citrus (orange it seems) BBQ sauce I have ever had. Brisket is GREAT but chicken is dry. Great baked beans. A little expensive but my mouth is watering just typing this.

Hickory House BBQ – Just North of Big Jim’s and very good also (I do love BBQ). This is definately my favorite Guy’s night out hangout. Couple of good beer drafts which is so necessary for a BBQ joint (I miss the draft Pick Axe Ale – hope it comes back).

Vines – My wife went there with a friend shortly after it opened. She dropped over $100 just on her tab and came home sober and hungry. No desire to relive that experience.

SPERO WINES – And, speaking of wine I have to plug the best red wine around (I have nothing to with the business except as a top tier customer). SPERO wines out by Rockies Auto. Yes, an odd place for a winery and if you blink you will miss it. Folks, the is some of the best red wine around. Consistently fantastic. Zero snob attitude. Authentic Itialian ancestry only one generation removed from Italy. The reds are usually on the darker/sweeter side and not so dry. The Saturday only tasting is generous and free. Case discounts, case of the year full out party, $1 per bottle credit for empty returns. You just have to go. If you are a white wine fan give it a try but I’ve heard they are only so-so. I’ve had a few but white doesn’t do much for me. Get to know Clyde, June, Kevin, and others and you will be greeted like family. Become a great customer and get occasional goodies slipped into your car just as you are leaving like a bottle of the private unlabeld stock of wine reserved for Clyde’s special occasion dinner party or a bottle of something unique like a dessert plum wine. Can’t say enough about the folks or the wine!!!!

I totally agree with you about needing a GREAT pizza place in Parker… Lil Ricci’s is the best I’ve found, I like the patio when the weather is good but the atmosphere inside is lacking. I grew up in Aurora and love GeJo’s. I miss places like THAT! Tequila Joe’s does have the great firepit and patio and the food there for us has always been consistently good and fun friendly server staff. I DO Love Hacienda CO.. Try the Ultimate Margarita’s.. layered frozen seriously fantastico! :D

You need to give Vines another try! It’s much improved since way back when it opened and also start off at happy hour or for your wife and friends Ladies Night wednesday where all the wine is 1/2 off by the glass and several tapas available for $5bucks. Also feel free to ask the waiters for tapas that will fill you up.. some are big on bulk other’s big on pricey ingredients.. they’ll help you get enough to eat in your budget! :D Are Spero Wines sold at any of the local liquor stores? Just my two cents worth. :) Thanks for all your thoughts! Have you been to Falcon Lately? they have quite a few more micro brews than they used to.

Burgers – go to Better Burgers – located next to Discount Tire on Lincoln Ave. just west of Parker Road. Great burgers, and the buns don’t fall apart. Plus, they include the fixin’s on your burger. No dirty ‘self service bar’ to wade through.

RIBS – if you like real Ribs (i.e. not the puny baby back kind), try Brother’s BBQ on I-25/Arapahoe, or Yazoo BBQ which is just a bit further east on Arapahoe off I-25 (located in front of Home Depot).

Steaks – a bit pricy, but Saltgrass is a better deal than Trappers. Texas Roadhouse is not as pricy, but the steaks are just a bit lower quality than Saltgrass.

Mexican – Tequila Joes is the best in Parker, hands down. Plus, you can get bargain certificates at restaurant.com.

Italian – Armandos is pretty good, but they are overpriced for what you get.

Bar/Pub – You can’t beat the Tailgate for happy hour.

Wine/Tapas – Vines is the place. You don’t go there for a big dinner (anyone who thought they were isn’t paying attention). The wines are great, and you should go there for their happy hour specials and 1/2 price nights.

Pizza/Pasta – You’ve got to head north to Old Chicago at Parker Rd/Arapahoe.

American Fair – Cheddars at Parker/Arapahoe is pretty darn good and provides a great value.

Hi there!

New to Parker, love the site and thread on restaurants.

My wife and I moved from Kansas City, and are loving to try out the local establishments.

I’m an Asian food fanatic, and it’s always a struggle to find a place to get great, consistent, Chinese and Thai. I’ll be trying the Dancing Noodle (thanks to the 2009 thread) and must comment on a restaurant that I didn’t see on the entire thread, but is definitely worth mention.

Johnny’s Asian Bistro – This restaurant has FANTASTIC food. I had the best Egg Rolls here that I’ve ever had. Having spent some time in Asia, I’m pretty picky about American Asian food. The food was good and lite, not too greasy, and the service was great. The restaurant is quaint, but very comfortable and warm feeling. I will definitely be going back to try it again very soon. As picky as I am about Chinese, this one was a winner.

Cherry Village Asian Grill – This one is also good, although their food isn’t quite as good as Johnny’s. Will be ordering in from them though. Two great places within minutes of my house, I couldn’t ask for more.

Keep these coming, it really helps those of us that are new to the area!

You should try Indochine on Mainstreet. I’ve only ever heard rave reviews and the couple even teaches cooking classes.

Let’s see:

My Favorite Parker place is Goga’s Mediterranean Cuisine. Big portions, friendly staff, and nice atmosphere.

Places I like: Hickory house, Panera Bread, Chipolte.

There are lots of average places in Parker.

Place I don’t like: Takota (SP?) – have been there twice now and each time they are out of like half of the items on the menu. The server doesn’t let us know until we order it that there is no more.

Tequila Joe’s – again bad service. Waited for any one seat me. Finally sat in the bar. Sat and waited for a server to get me a drink and menu. Had to servers tell me someone will help me in a minute. After waiting 15 minutes, I left.
