A Parker Christmas Holiday Tradition
“ Magic on Mainstreet” is the theme for this family favorite small town USA holiday Christmas Carriage Parade
Saturday – December 9, 2017 at Noon Mainstreet in Downtown Parker
Come and experience that holiday feeling in the air and enjoy this all-equestrian parade made up of dozens of horse-drawn carriages, wagons, minis and marching bands, surreys, and stagecoaches from across Colorado, all dressed up for the holidays. With a different theme each year, the parade continues to stay small and give you that locals feeling that is becoming harder to find. Join the fun on this special afternoon when the streets are lined with families and eager children hoping to catch a glimpse of Santa.
Join the Parade!
Be more than a spectator this year and enter the parade! Individuals, businesses and organizations are encouraged to enter the parade. It is a wonderful opportunity to gain exposure.Commercial entries are $100 and may display advertising for their business on their hired carriage or horse group. The parade is open to equestrian and marching band entries only, no motorized vehicles. There will be no entry fee charged for private entries that do not charge for their services and do not display any type of advertising, other than for a not-for-profit group. Parade space is limited and all entries will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. All applications are due by Nov. 17.
New this year, the Parker Christmas Carriage Parade is opening up the theme to individual entries. Each entry is encouraged to be creative and unique. The only themes/characters entries cannot use are Santa and Mrs. Claus because the Town of Parker and Swingle Lawn, Tree and Landscape Care have already extended the invitation to them and they will be the final carriage in the parade!
Event-goers also enjoy a holiday farmer’s market, a petting zoo and pony rides, ice sculpting and visiting time and pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Claus! Ice Sculpting, the petting zoo and pony rides will begin at 10:30 a.m. Pictures with Santa will be $5, cash only after the parade from 1 to 3 p.m.
Limited Handicap-Accessible parking will be available at the Schoolhouse at Mainstreet, 19650 E. Mainstreet.
A Parker Holiday Favorite
The video below shows some of the excitement you’ll see at this old-fashioned town parade.
The live ice sculpting is one of our favorite things to enjoy every year. Look for them near the Gazebo in O’Brien Park
Parade spectators are asked to remember that Mainstreet and Victorian roads will be closed from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and those parked in this area will not be able to exit until roads are reopened.
