THREE DAYS TO BECOME A MIRACLE MAKER FOR CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL COLORADO

Annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals radiothon on Alice 105.9 Kicks off February 15th

Childrens hospital radiothon denver coAlice 105.9 is getting ready to once again kick off its annual three-day radiothon to benefit Children’s Hospital  ColoradoAlice’s 36 Hours for Kids, runs from February 15-17 and aims to raise more than one million dollars for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Last year, a record-breaking $1.65 million was raised, with one hundred percent of the funds staying in the community and going directly to Children’s Colorado.

One of the top radiothons in the nation, Alice’s 36 Hours for Kids is a three day, 36-hour live broadcast from the Boettcher Atrium at Children’s Colorado. For the eleventh year in a row, Alice 105.9 will break from its regular programming to focus on the children and families who have had personal experiences at Children’s Colorado. Interviews with past and present patients of the hospital and audio montages of children’s life-altering and inspirational stories are broadcast live, and listeners are encouraged to call in and make a donation to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals .

The live element of this event makes it very riveting and emotional. Through the course of the three days, hundreds of miraculous stories are shared leaving a lasting impression of how incredibly fortunate we are to have a hospital of the caliber of Children’s Colorado in the community.

Tune in to Alice 105.9FM or listen online at Alice1059.com to hear the heart-warming story of Addison and Bella, two young patients diagnosed with the same type of leukemia on subsequent days at Children’s Colorado and the incredible bond they share; or the courageous story of Gabbie McWilliams, who suffered a serious concussion after being hit in the head with a ball defending her team’s goal in a soccer game and now speaks out to educate other young athletes about concussion awareness; or the inspirational story of Emilie and Haylie, two sisters who share a heart condition and the same caregivers as their mother, who was treated at Children’s Colorado more than 25 years ago.

You can help raise more than $1 million for the Children’s Hospital Colorado by calling 1-800-458-KIDSduring the event, giving online or starting a personal fundraising page at www.YouMakeMiracles.com. Follow us online at  www.facebook.com/childrenshospitalcolorado and Twitter www.twitter.com/ChildrensColo.

Memorial fund and service for Donna Royer’s kids in Parker Colorado

Donna Royer victim of violent shooting domestic violence parker colorado

This photo was taken by Donna's niece and is on Facebook.

Immediately after the tragic shooting in Parker, not one but several funds were set up for Donna Marie’s two daughters. Anyone wishing to donate to the fund for the Royer kids can go into any Wells Fargo branch and donate by cash or check in any amount. The manager of the Parker and Mainstreet branch assured us that the tellers can pull up all of the accounts for you to choose from to donate.

Steve Alter the owner of Tailgate Tavern kicked off one of the funds with a $300 donation yesterday when he opened the bar and has donation buckets available for anyone who wants to stop by or who can’t get to the bank during their regular hours (the Tailgate is always open). Trish from Robitaille Photography is donating 10% of her profits for the entire month of January to the Royer memorial fund.

If there are other individuals or businesses who are going above and beyond the call please feel free to leave that information in the comment section below this article.

David Casiano the Mayor of Parker had these words for the citizens of Parker and for the kids.

Last night at the PACE Center, a memorial service was held for Donna Marie. It was SRO. Why is Parker a great place to live? What is a home-town feel? Wells Fargo, Tailgate, Warhorse, Parker Task Force, Target, and great citizens just to name a few of the many who have come together and came together last evening to give to Donna Marie’s girls. We laughed, cried, shared stories, hugged, supported each other and, especially, the girls. What tremendous young ladies they are. What great people we have in Parker. I, for one, am lucky to be here. May God bless Donna Marie and her children.
