August 7, 2011 Honey Festival at O’Brien Park Parker Colorado
Families will enjoy this free community event while learning about the Parker Thunder Bee project with honey products, demonstrations and educational materials. Master gardeners and our friends from Tagawa Gardens will be on hand to share their knowledge about honeybee-friendly plants, the Highland Bee Club will be there with hives and explain how bees make honey, local bands will entertain with great music and much, much more!

Thunder Bee Project
With help from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) grant, the Town of Parker addresses the rapid loss of honey bee hives both locally and nationally. Started by the Parker Cultural and Scientific Commission, the project encourages the education about bees and their role in nature, as well as replenishing the bee population in Parker. The Town of Parker currently maintains eight hives.
The Thunder Bee Project has inspired the annual Honey Festival in Parker with honey products, demonstrations and education. For more information on the Thunder Bee Project, contact Kelly Kuper at 303.805.3364 or by email.
