I am happy to be living in a community where residents band together to really participate in local fund raising efforts like this one.
Date: Saturday, October 3, 2009
Time: Registration/fun 8:30 AM
Walk begins at 9 AM
Place: Cherry Creek Trail McCabe Meadows (East Bank Trail Head) 3.3 mile walk
[ The location is just across from the Parker United Methodist Church on Parker Road.]
Safety: Please stay on the route. No recreational vehicles such as roller blades or bicycles (strollers and wheelchairs are OK). Please no pets.
Weather: The Parker CROP Hunger Walk will be held rain, snow, or shine.
Twenty-five percent of the CROP walk’s pledges will go to the Parker Task Force, a nonprofit organization that supports those in need throughout Parker, Elizabeth and Franktown Communities.
Five local churches are participating in this year’s event: Ave Maria Roman Catholic Church, Hilltop United Church of Christ, Joy Lutheran, Parker United Methodist Church and St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church.
Early registration is available online at www.walkinparker.org, or by calling Rebecca Macy for a walker’s packet at 720-851-6225. If you don’t want to walk but would like to donate there is also an option for that on the page.
