City Fireworks Display Rescheduled
The night sky above the City of Lone Tree will burst into color on Sunday, September 2, 2012, with the rescheduled Independence Day fireworks display. This event at Sweetwater Park will be much smaller in scale compared to the full Independence Day celebration on July 4, but does include a performance by the Steve Thomas Band beginning at 6:00 pm. Food and drink vendors will be onsite throughout the event. The fireworks display starts after the performance and is expected to begin between 7:30 pm and 8:00 pm. Due to the smaller scale of this event, there will be general admission without wristbands required.
The Lone Tree Golf Club and Hotel at 9808 Sunningdale Boulevard plans to host a “Dinner on the Deck” the evening of September 2, in conjunction with the fireworks display. Dinner and drink specials will be available all evening on the patio. No reservations are required but it is recommended that guests arrive early to secure a seat.
If you are interested in avoiding event crowds, but still want to view the fireworks display, there are other areas in the community that offer an excellent view. Spectators can hike to a scenic overlooks atop the Bluffs Regional Park. The fireworks can also be seen from the rooftop of the Lincoln light rail station, the rooftop at La Sandia and the Sears Outlet parking lot (formerly the Great Indoors).
The City of Lone Tree is currently operating under a Stage 1 fire restriction. Therefore, the personal use of fireworks is still prohibited.
