Please bring lawn chairs, blankets, picnics and non-alcoholic beverages along to enjoy this band that was nominated for best Lo-Fi/Garage Rock band in the Westword Music Showcase. No registration is required.  The band hopes to have it’s first album released before this concert so be ready to support local artists by purchasing one if you enjoy their music.

Their song ‘What Happened to You’ has been played on KTCL 93.3′s esteemed Locals Only show.

The Outfit Band includes five Colorado local musicians:

  • Eric Johnston
  • Casey Banker
  • RJ Powers
  • Mike King
  • Christopher Cain

“The Outfit is a big, hearty sound. It swirls and churns with the watery metallic of a motor’s hum. They teeter on the edge of throwing a rod and kicking the whole machine into chaos — but somehow, impossibly, they always throttle with a throaty obligatto — sometimes killing the engine altogether for a desperate breath, then violently firing the pistons into eloquent motion again before diving deeper into the emotional life of fire.”
— Jonathan Bitz, Denver Syntax Autumn 2009

Parker Mainstreet Center
19650 E. Mainstreet
Parker CO 80134

If you like to be involved behind the scenes of shows, that’s fabulous! They have a place for you as well. If you are artistic, they will put you to work creating and designing sets, costuming and stage makeup. Are you more mechanically inclined? How about helping with the stage crew, lighting, curtains or sound. Have fun and get great experience to put on your resume when you hit Broadway.

“Based on Lewis Carroll’s original book, this play tells the delightful story of Alice’s dream about a magical place and the very unusual characters she meets, including the White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, Queen of Hearts and other hilarious creatures in Wonderland! “

Classic Acts asks that you stay for the entire audition period in order to be considered for one of more than 30 parts in the show.

Rehearsals will be held every Tuesday and Thursday, Sept. 7 through Oct. 16 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Mainstreet Center. There will be a $75 participation fee due if selected to be a member of the cast or crew.

Performances of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
Oct. 16 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Tickets are $5 for ages 3 and up and will be available on Sept. 9 at the Mainstreet Center and online at www.ParkerRec.com.

Parker Aritst Guild annual art show Art in the Park is coming august 2010 to O'brien Park, parker co.

Many art forms will be represented including:

  • painting in a wide variety of media,
  • drawing,
  • pastels,
  • pottery,
  • jewelry,
  • photography,
  • wood working,
  • glass,
  • sculpture and more.

This is a family friendly event with things for the kids to do including a face painting booth (for a small charge)  and a childrens art station sponsored by The Academy of Art in Parker where you create your own art project.

Soft drinks, snacks and hot entrée lunches will be sold both days.

There will live entertainment in the gazebo both days. The Parker Chorale and an ensemble from the Denver Performing Arts HS will perform on Saturday and Sunday.

The Town of Parker, Sunday afternoon concert will be from 1 to 3 pm.

This weeks entertainment is The Branders, with a vocally-driven, harmony-laden sound, this upbeat band will thrill the masses with variety of music from old school sweetness to cutting edge country.

What is a “juried” show you might ask? Regular craft show allow anyone with the entry fee into their shows, the quality or subject matter of the art nor whether it’s actually hand-made is taken into consideration. A Juried arts and crafts show means that along with having to have your entry fee, your art work is critiqued by a panel of other artists to make sure that the quality and subject matter are both acceptable and that the art is indeed handmade, not something you can buy in hong kong and sell for profit.

The art show is sponsored by the Parker Artists Guild (PAG) of Parker. PAG membership includes artists from Parker, Castle Rock, Aurora, Highlands Ranch, Douglas and Elbert County and the south metro area.
Membership is open to all media. PAG was formed in 2001 and has grown to about 200 members this year. Our mission is to promote the visual arts and raise awareness of local artists in the community. PAG sponsors a variety of art education workshops, exhibits, culture events and Kid’s Kulture. For more information about PAG and Art in the Park visit www.ParkerArtistsGuild.com.
