Carraige rides in downtown historic parker colorado december 2009

This is a new family tradition that fits in so well with the quaint downtown area that Parker residents have come to love and enjoy with their own families as well as visiting relatives for the Christmas holidays.

Your ride includes a trip throughout the historic scenic downtown area with stops along the way. Each stop offers a variety of entertainment from caroling groups, other live music, arts and crafts at Santa’s Workshop, Christmas story time for children of all ages facilitated by the Douglas County library and an appearance by Old St. Nick himself.

Dates:

Friday’s and Saturdays
December 11, 12, 18, 19
Thursday December 24, and Saturday December 26th.

Cost: $5/person

Tickets can be purchased prior to the even or the night of your ride at various businesses located in downtown Parker, CO.

The Parker DDC is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to increase the quality of Parker’s historic downtown area. They accomplish this by bringing local businesses, landowners, and the Town of Parker together to provide a more enjoyable, vibrant, and viable downtown for the Parker citizens, community, and businesses. Several other events they put on include the Smokin’ Brew BBQ, CarFest, Wine Walks, and ParkerFest.”

This will be the last wine walk Art AlaCarte event of the season and it looks like there are lots of great things happening!  The weatherman says it’s going to be nice again so come on down to the History Mainstreet Business district in Beautiful Downtown Parker Colorado.

Wine Walk on Mainstreet in Parker Colorado Fridays and Saturdays 2009The event starts by you purchasing your tickets at either one of the booths on the street or at Vines Wine Bar.  Tickets are $10 Cash or $11 Credit and you receive a collectible engraved wine glass and a coupon book along with a bag filled with goodies and coupons.  You then go to each of the many downtown merchants that are participating.  In the past there have been between 15 and 20.  Some serve appetizers, chocolate and each have a white and red wine selection for you to sample. You give them a ticket… they pour you a glass of wine.  While you are wandering down Mainstreet you are also invited to browse the artists booths and enjoy and purchase the beautiful things they have displayed.  Art varies from painting, woodworking, glass, jewelry, pottery and many more to choose from.

Parker now has a taxi service so if you have had a little too  much wine you can always call a cab!
