CCN Best of the Best Voting now in Parker Colorado
Posted by: | CommentsThe Colorado Community Newspapers have long been the top local newspaper in the Douglas County area and for years they were the only one that really covered anything local in the smaller area’s of the County like Parker, Franktown, Sedalia and Larkspur.
Now some of those communities have grown, but CCN is still the go to source for the printed news and to look for your kids sports teams pictures to pop up so you can post them on your refri. Once a year they hold the Best of the Best contest so local area folks can pick their favorite businesses, restaurants, hair stylists and barrista’s in the area.
Now is the time for the residents to speak out and help keep your favorite local business’s thriving in the community.

Restauranteurs George Karas and Tom Karantounis took the building that formerly housed Marie Calendars and created a beautiful relaxing oasis of a mix of rustic brick, hardwood floors and modern colors for a dining atmosphere to enjoy world foods with Mediterranean, Southwestern and American influences, a glass of wine, or share their amazing signature dessert, a Creme Brulee’ Napoleon. Nomelie Cupcakes Parker Colorado
Posted by: | Comments
If you love cupcakes, and who doesn’t? You need to take the drive out to Parker to check out this local ” cupcakery” Nomelie Cupcakes.
Seleh Davenport the owner of Nomelie Cupcakes in Olde Downtown Parker opened this shop as a labor of love and it shows. The shop is cozy and comfy with couches and chairs to snuggle up on with a book and sip your French press coffee or enjoy your own pot of tea (there are many varieties to choose from). The shop also boasts free WiFi so bring your laptop and relax on Mainstreet while getting your sugar and caffeine cravings satisfied.
People always want to know what “Nomelie” mean? Seleh explains “the name of the shop was created by combining my two childrens names and adding the accent to make it look French.”
Ms. Davenport hads been making cupcakes for years but created all of her recipies much closer to sea level. After moving to Colorado, she had to work diligently to rework all of her cupcake and frosting recipes for the slightly over mile hi elevation of Parker (which sits at 6,000 feet above sea level). She has done an excellent job as you will see if you come and sample her scrumptions confections. The cupcakes are made fresh daily and always include chocolate and vanilla varieties plus each day offers one or two special flavors to include:
- Banana Velvet – Chocolate Chip - Snickerdoodle
- Grasshopper – Coconut Dream – Cookies and Cream
- Lovely Lemon – Nutty Monkey – Mexican Hot Chocolate
- Crazy Carrot – Caramelized Apple – Strawberry Dream
Also offered are seasonal flavors and for the Christmas Holidays look for Pumpkin White Chocolate, Candy Cane and Irish Jig. You can get a sneak preview for the day by following Nomelie on Twitter .Selah tweets out the flavors of the day and specials as well. You can also find Nomelie Cupcakes on Facebook for specials of the day and special events.
During the Christmas season, Nomelie’s is staying open until 8:30 on Fridays and Saturdays so you can stop by when you come to Parker for your carraige rides.
The name of the shop was created by combining Selah’s two childrens names and adding the accent to make it look French. The shop is soon to expand offering homemade soups, sandwiches and other lunch items.
