Holiday Memories in the making for friends and family in parker, highlands ranch, lone tree and castle rock colorado at Christmas. There are so many things to do this holiday season in the area, it’s hard to keep track. Hopefully this list of “things to do” for this weekend will help you to create your new simpler Christmas holiday traditions.  2009 is the year that most residents in Colorado are working to reduce the getting and increase the giving, not of things necessarily, but your time, attention and care to those in your life that really matter the most.  Lets  step back to smell the holly instead of rushing from store to store buying things instead of memories.

Below you will find a few things that are quite inexpensive and that you can enjoy with your loved one’s.

  • Friday Only Songstresses, Liz Clark and Tessa Perry will be teaming up for a special evening of harmonies, songs and stories at Kunjani Coffea in Parker CO Dec 18th at 6:30 p.m. Details and map hereMore iinformation on this event in Douglas County Colorado.
  • Highlands Ranch Christmas Market is in it’s final weekend. There will be unique handmade gift items, traditional Chrismtas foods for gifts or your family meal along with favorite vendors from the summer Highlands Ranch farmers market.Things to do in Douglas County Colorado Highlands Ranch, Parker, Castle Rock, Lone Tree,
  • Winter WonderLights runs nightly, December 11-24 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. (last ticket will be sold at 8p.m.) Map and details. Things to do in Douglas County Colorado Highlands Ranch, Parker, Castle Rock, Lone Tree,
  • The 6th Annual Nutcracker of Parker returns once again this Christmas Season. 4 performances on Satuday December 19 and Sunday December 20 Things to do in Douglas County Colorado Highlands Ranch, Parker, Castle Rock, Lone Tree,
  • Santa Paws is coming to your town and there is one weekend left to get a fabulous keepsake photo of the Christmas holidays and help support Every Creature Counts a local Colorado no-kill animal shelter in the process. Things to do in Douglas County Colorado Highlands Ranch, Parker, Castle Rock, Lone Tree,
  • Go as a family to see Blind Side… (you signed up for the $5 Buck club.. right?) This movie is absolutely wonderful and shows the spirit of giving better than any I’ve seen in a long time.

The Best Things in Life are Free!

Parker Chamber Picture show is FREE and FUN for your family… TONIGHT!

Remember back to yesteryear when we would all pile in a car and go to the drive in movies?  Mom would make up a huge bag of popcorn and we’d each have our own brown trash bag full, we’d bring a six pack of pop and other munchies and still beg to go to the concession stand just for the adventure of seeing all the candy that was ONLY available there.. I was addicted to those Chocolate aka plastic blogs in a tube called FLICKS I think.  Anyway…. Drive in movies were the best part of summer when I was growing up… and the Parker Chamber Picture show is very reminiscent of those “happy days”.

This was at the last movie “Journey to the Center of the Earth” We arrived at 7:00 thinking that noone would be there yet, and here was the crowd already.  The guy who runs the thing gets up and talks a little about the event, the sponsors, current happenings in Parker.

Here you can see the blow up screen just in front of the gazebo at O’brien Park.  I’m only 5′2″ and I’m sitting pretty far back.. (behind the first set of big trees) and as you can see I have a great view.. there really are NO bad seats.

Anna Palmore- the Membership Coordinator for the Parker Chamber of Commerce and Lisa Peterson – The Office Administrator were both there staffing the popcorn, candy, pop and glow light booth.  I think the most expensive thing for sale are the glow sticks… the popcorn candy and pop are all $1 dollar each.. yes that’s right Concessions for a buck!

So if you want to step back into “The Good Old Days” I recommend this free Parker Chamber event highly!

You still have three more chances this season…
