The Music Man setting records at the Parker UMC
Posted by: | CommentsLast night was opening night for The Music Man, the summer musical fundraiser produced at the Parker United Methodist Church.
The production had a record number of ticket sales for opening night and raised a whopping $4000 for the Parker Task Force , the recipient of all of the funds raised by this community theater project spearheaded by Kim Moore & Kurt Stroman.
If you were not lucky enough to be one of the first to see it, you should run down to the church office to day to make sure you get tickets for tonight and Saturday night’s performance.

Nathan Smith as Harold Hill convinces the town they need a band. Pictured Elizabeth Stanley & Holly Longmore
Marion played by Paula Sayler and Professor Hill played by Nathan A. Smith were both fabulous in their parts and the bumbling Mayor – Clay Russell and his wife Eulalie – Sonia Parsons were both hilarious! The Pick-a-Little Ladies & the Barbershop Octet charmed the audience with their musical stylings as well, and Ryan Templeman as Winthrop simply couldn’t have been more adorable.
- Performance dates: Performances are Friday July 30, and Saturday July 31 at 7:30 PM.
- All tickets are $10 each. (also available at the door).
- All proceeds from the show will benefit the Parker Task Force.
Please bring a can of food for the Parker food bank and receive a free concession item during intermission.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased and picked up at the church office or at the door. (MAP)
