Parents Night Out Saturday August 14 at the Parker Fieldhouse Parker CO

Everyone can enjoy an evening of PLAY! Turf, gym and inline games will keep the kiddos active and burning energy.

Organized games and activities will be led by experienced recreation staff to keep participants entertained the whole night. The climbing wall will be open for a portion of the night so be sure to have a climbing wall waiver signed in advance or be prepared to sign one at check-in. Open inline skating will also be held, but skates are not provided.
For those kids who need a break from the action, short family-friendly movies will be shown. Coloring activities and other crafts will also be available and as an added bonus, karaoke will be featured for those aspiring pop-stars!
Send the kids with athletic shoes, skates, water bottles and snacks or give them some money for concessions and vending machines. Hot dogs, pizza, pretzels and much more will be available for purchase.
Registration for individual children is open online at www.ParkerRec.com. The fee is $15 for the first child and $10 for each additional sibling. NOTE: Registration fees will increase by $5 per child one week prior to the event.

Help for Children and Teens Dealing with Divorce in Parker CO

Amy Maddox, a local Parker Colorado Counselor is offering a support group for kids and teens that are dealing with a divorce.
Amy at Pikes Peak Counseling offers a 6-week divorce group for children (ages 7-11) and for adolescents (ages 12-15) whose parents are separated, currently going through a divorce or who are divorced. The child and adolescent groups will focus on coping skills and strategies to help your child, pre-teen or teen through this rough time.
Elementary/Middle/High School Social Skills Groups
These 6-week groups will cover issues regarding:
*Friendship/social skills
*Self-esteem/self-expression/self-identity
*Peer pressure/rumors/bullying
*Problem-solving strategies
*Stress-reduction techniques
*Joining groups/working in a group setting
*Boundaries/impulse control
Wine Walk Parker Colorado

The Parker Downtown Development Group (DDC) is hosting a Wine Walk tonight and tomorrow night up and down Mainstreet and Pikes Peak Drive.
August 21-22, Friday Saturday evening from 5- 8 p.m.
The cost is $10/person and you receive a nice keepsake of an engraved wine glass a book of tickets to exchange for a taste of wine at the local businesses that are participating. Most spots have a red and a white and many businesses have chocolate or cheese to compliment the tastings. Many of the businesses also have a special going on that you can take advantage of for participating in the wine walk.
Bethany from Sahair Salon and Patsy at the Victorian Peak in an authentic Italian wagon imported by Gaspare’s Italian Bakery and Restaurant.
You should also stop by Becca’s store “Fruits of our Spirit” It’s just to your right when you leave the wine tasting station at Vines. She has a Facebook Fan Page Here.
We attended the last event and had a wonderful time enjoying getting to know our Parker neighbors, the local business owners and what the shops on Mainstreet had to offer. Here we are at the Parker Flower Shop where we got the flowers for our wedding. They did a fabulous job! I found out things I didn’t know before.. for instance I didn’t know that Parker Panache carried Brightons jewelry.
I LOVE that stuff and would just as soon go to the cute little shop on Mainstreet over driving to Park Meadows.
I also found out the dog grooming shop had cat toys too.. (I’m a cat person) plus that shop is
just adorable…

Divorce Recovery Workshop Parker Colorado

A local licensed professional counselor working with divorced couples and families is offering a Divorce Recovery Workshop here in Parker.
It is a 4 week course and the group will meet at Julie’s Office,
19753 E Pikes Peak Ct, Suite 202
(Beautiful Green Victorian Building off of Mainstreet in Parker Colorado)
Starting September 9th. There are a few spots still open so call immediately if you’d like to participate.
