Castle North Park renovations nearly complete
One of the Town’s oldest parks will reopen with new life this month, as renovations there are nearing completion. The Town acquired Castle North Park, 801 Canyon Drive, in 1985, and first installed amenities there in 1995.
The 1.5-acre park, adjacent to the Town’s iconic Rock, had fallen out of use over the years as more modern parks opened in Town.
Work began last fall to make Castle North Park new again. Renovations have included the installation of new playground equipment and climbing features; the removal of fencing and expansion of grassy play areas; and the addition of benches and covered picnic tables.
The enhancements are expected to wrap up at a March 17 community work day. Weather permitting, volunteers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in The Woodlands will complete playground details that day, and the park will officially open to the public beginning at noon.
“It is great to see new life being breathed into a park in an established neighborhood,” said District 4 Town Councilman Chip Wilson, who represents the area. “Now, a new generation of families can make memories at Castle North, while taking in great views of Castle Rock.”
Inclement weather could delay the park’s reopening. Check CRgov.com for updates if the status is in question.
