Country Is, The Music of Mainstreet auditions
The Parker Arts, Culture and Events (PACE) Center is holding auditions for a new original musical titled COUNTRY IS, The Music of Mainstreet. The musical is conceived and directed by Rick Seeber, with musical arrangements by Michael Gribbin and choreography by Melissa McCarl.
COUNTRY IS, The Music of Mainstreet is an American premiere musical concert celebrating uniquely American music resonating with simple, honest stories of yearning, love, joy, hard-working, hard-living, hard-playing people with a multi-talented Colorado cast of four and a sizzlin’ five-piece band.
Auditions are Sept. 12 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. by appointment only

Experienced singers and actors ages 18 to 45 with strong performing abilities and exceptional pop/stage singing voices are encouraged to attend. Auditioners should prepare two, 16–32 bar vocal selections (one up-tempo, one ballad) that show your voice at its best. Bring sheet music in your key; an accompanist will be provided. Recorded music or acapella audition will eliminate casting consideration. First auditions are vocal only, and callbacks will include movement and singing from the score.
A current hard copy headshot and resume are required. All roles are paid non-union positions.
Musical Character Breakdown
MALE 1 Singer/Actor. Tenor to play from age 18 to 30. The enthusiastic neophyte country performer with top soaring range. Top note (full voice): C, with falsetto above. Bottom note: A. Must move well.
MALE 2 Singer/Actor. Baritone to play from mid 30′s to late 40′s. The seasoned country performer. High pop Baritone. Top note (full voice): G. Bottom note: G. Must move well.
FEMALE 1 Singer/Actor. Soprano to play from age 18 to 30. The blossoming thrush.
Pop Second Soprano: Belt to C; Strong mix to F#; Legit to G. Bottom note: E Flat. Must move well.
FEMALE 2 Singer/Actor. Alto to play from mid 30′s to late 40′s. The sardonic, seen-it-all but loves-it-all performer. Needs great country pop sound. Belt to C, Mix to E. Bottom Note: E Flat. Must move well.
If selected, performers must be available for daytime rehearsals. Rehearsals begin on Jan. 4, 2012.
The show opens Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 and runs for 12 performances: Jan. 27 at 7:30 p.m. (Opening), Jan. 28 at 7:30 p.m., Jan. 29 at 7:00 p.m., Feb. 3 at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 4 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Feb. 5 at 7:00 p.m., Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 11 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Feb. 12 at 7:00 p.m.
