The Town of Parker Celebrates Arbor Day
The Town will celebrate Arbor Day on Saturday, May 1 from 8 to 10 a.m. at Railbender Park located at 20 Mile Road and Longs Way in Parker. Event attendees and volunteers will help plant more than 50 trees of various species including: elms, london plane trees, oaks, pines, and larch trees. No need to sign-up, just bring your own gloves and shovels and the Town will provide the donuts, coffee and hot chocolate!
There will be plenty to do and plenty to learn this year. Join your Parker neighbors and learn which trees and plants are best for your area, how to plant them properly and make them last. In addition to planting trees, volunteers will enjoy a “Tool Show and Tell” where they’ll learn about some of the large tools Parker uses to keep our trees healthy and looking great!
Town arborists will also be giving small tree and shrub pruning tips and demonstrations to help residents learn how to take care of their trees. Come and help out and receive small plant give-a-ways and Arbor Day memorabilia. Tree planting, refreshments and give-a-ways will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
