theater construction on the PACE Center Parker CoThe Parker Arts, Culture and Events (PACE) Center is holding auditions for A Christmas Story, set to play at the PACE Center this December. Directed by Hugo Jon Sayles and produced in partnership with the Aurora Fox Arts Center, this American Christmas story centers on Ralphie, a little boy who has to convince his parents, teachers and Santa that a Red Ryder BB gun really is the perfect gift for the 1940′s.

Auditions are on Sept. 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Parker Mainstreet Center, 19650 E. Mainstreet in downtown Parker.

Call 303.739.1970 to schedule an audition appointment. Callbacks are by invitation only on Sept. 19 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Auditioners must prepare a one minute comic monologue and your favorite line from the show. No singing is necessary, but be prepared to move. The callback will include improv and movement, as well as reading from the script.

  • The Old Man, male age 35-50
  • Mother, female age 25-40

  • Randy, male age 6-10
  • Schwartz, male age 9-14

  • Scut Farkas, male age 10-15
  • Toady, male age 8-14
  • Miss Shields, female age 25-60
  • Helen Weathers, female age 9-14
  • Esther Jane, female age 9-14
  • Students (3-6 children boys and girls) ages 9-14
  • Red Ryder/Tree Guy/Santa, male age 20-50

The first rehearsal is Nov. 7, and performances are on the weekends from Dec. 2 through Dec. 11 at the PACE Center.
